Four Main Islands
Oahu: Ocean front resorts on Waikiki Beach, budget priced boutique hotels and condos, private beach front homes on the North Shore. Private cottages in Kohala district.
Maui: Kaanapali Beach, Lahaina Town, Kapalua are in the West Maui region. Wailea, Kihei and Makena are in the South Maui region.
Maui is popular for whale watchers. The winter season is the only time the whales are in Hawaii.
Kauai: Poipu Beach is on the southern coast, Wailua/Kapaa are on the east coast. Hanalei is on the northeast coast.
The east and north coasts are rugged with high surf and reefs.
Big Island: Three districts, Hilo is on the east coast and includes Volcanoes National Park. Kona district is on the west coast. Waikoloa district is on the north west coast.
