Waikoloa
North of the airport the region has one of the best sandy beaches at Anaeho'omalu Bay and refreshments at the Kings Shops. Ancient Hawaiian Petroglyphs are easily accessed on good trails. Accommodations at 4 and 5 star resorts and condos.

Kona Town
The Kona region has rocky coasts with a steep decent to deep water. Beaches are rugged, not good for swimming but there are several excellent snorkeling regions where wild dolphins are abundant. Lots of condos and two great 3 star hotels.
